Telegram Auto Join: Choose Trusted Invite Sources

Use Auto Join Invite Links when one trusted Telegram chat regularly shares private group or channel invitations you actually want to accept. In RedFox Auto Forward Telegram (@AutoForwardNew_Bot), the add-on checks new source messages for valid private invite links and joins only when the source is explicitly allowed. Start with one task and one trusted source, not every chat you follow. The official add-on guide states that an empty trusted_sources list means no links will be joined.
This guide is for an operator who already has a forwarding task and wants to reduce manual invitation handling without accepting invitations from unrelated sources. Auto-Bot.io publishes this guide; RedFox operates the product. The previous bot @Auto_Forward_Messages_Bot has moved to @AutoForwardNew_Bot. Use the exact current handle, not a similar display name.
Decide whether automatic joining fits your source
Imagine a training coordinator who receives invitations to new cohort groups in an organizer-only announcements chat. The coordinator wants to join those groups, but does not want invitations from a general discussion chat to trigger the same action. These are illustrative chat roles, not a customer result or a test we performed.
The useful distinction is where an invitation was posted, not merely whether the message contains a link. RedFox documents a trusted-source check for each forwarding task, with the add-on enabled or disabled per task. That supports a narrow workflow: allow the organizer chat for this task and leave unrelated chats untrusted.
- Good starting condition: you deliberately want to join the private groups or channels linked by a specific source you control or have assessed.
- Keep manual review instead: you want to inspect each destination individually before joining, or the source accepts invitations posted by people you do not know.
- Different job: you already belong to a private channel and only want its messages forwarded. Use the existing private-channel forwarding guide; accepting new invitations is a separate decision.
A trusted source is your configuration choice, not a guarantee that every linked community is trustworthy. Review who can post in that source and whether its purpose still matches the groups you intend to join.
Set a narrow joining policy for one task
Use the Auto Join Invite Links documentation alongside your task. It documents the controls and behavior, but does not provide a complete screen-by-screen setup or a bot command. Do not paste a guessed command or treat the configuration name below as one.
- Identify the account and task. Write down which connected Telegram account you intend to use and the task you are changing. If you still need the basic source-to-target setup, follow the existing forwarding setup guide first.
- Choose the invitation source. For the coordinator example, allow the organizer announcements chat, not the general discussion chat. RedFox says each task can have its own trusted sources.
- Review the explicit trusted-source list. The documented configuration name is
trusted_sources. An empty list means no links will be joined; it does not mean all sources are trusted. - Enable Auto Join Invite Links only for the intended task. The product guide says the add-on can be enabled or disabled per Forward Task. If you cannot find the control or confirm access to the add-on in your account, use official product support rather than changing unrelated settings.
- Check one permitted example before expanding. Use a private invitation to a disposable group or channel you control, posted as a new message in the chosen source. Observe the intended account's membership separately from any forwarded copy of the message. These are checks for you to run, not results established by this article.
The documented sequence begins with a new message arriving in a source chat. Do not use an old invitation already in chat history as proof that the add-on is failing. The guide does not establish a historical invitation scan, so use a new controlled example for your first check.
Keep link eligibility separate from admission
RedFox lists three relevant boundaries: private invite links only, valid Telegram invite links required, and no joining from untrusted sources. A public username link is not the private-invite workflow described by this add-on.
Telegram's own invite-link documentation adds another distinction: an invitation may expire, have a usage limit, be revoked, or require an administrator to approve a join request. A posted link therefore does not prove that immediate membership is available.
- Source allowed, ordinary valid private invitation: this is the joining case RedFox documents.
- Source not allowed: the product guide says its links will not be joined. Do not broaden the list merely to make an unrelated invitation work.
- Invitation expired, revoked or exhausted: ask the community administrator for an appropriate current invitation rather than repeatedly reposting the same one.
- Administrator approval required: distinguish a pending request from membership. Telegram documents the approval step; RedFox's add-on page does not specify its handling or status display for that case. Confirm with product support before relying on it.
Joining a community is also not permission to redistribute its posts. Decide separately whether you are authorized to copy content to your intended audience. Do not assume that joining automatically creates a new forwarding route; review source and destination selection in the existing setup guide.
If an invitation does not lead to a join
Check the smallest relevant condition first. Keep a private note of what you observed rather than treating a forwarded invitation message as a membership receipt.
- Confirm the task: is Auto Join Invite Links enabled on the task you are checking, rather than another task?
- Confirm the source: does that task explicitly trust the chat where the new invitation appeared? Check for an empty
trusted_sourceslist. - Confirm the link type and availability: is it a valid private invitation, and does the community still allow admission through it? Ask its administrator about expiry, revocation, usage limits or approval requirements.
- Confirm the outcome: inspect the intended account's actual membership or pending-request state. Do not claim a successful join from the existence of a link alone.
- Escalate a narrow example: tell official product support the task, source type, whether the source is explicitly trusted, whether the message was new, and what membership state you observed. Keep private invite links, account identifiers and source content out of public tickets.
If the wrong sources are eligible, disable the add-on for that task while you review the list. RedFox documents the per-task off switch; it does not document that switching it off leaves groups already joined. Treat prevention of further automatic joins and cleanup of existing memberships as separate actions.
Frequently asked questions
Does an empty trusted-source list allow every chat?
No. RedFox explicitly states that if trusted_sources is empty, no links will be joined. Add only the sources you intentionally want to authorize for that task.
Can I use it to join any public Telegram channel link?
The add-on documentation says private invite links only. Do not treat a public username URL as an equivalent input or assume that every kind of Telegram link is supported.
Will a newly joined group automatically become a forwarding source?
The cited add-on guide describes joining, not automatic creation of a route for every new membership. Check the source selection and intended destination separately before relying on forwarding. Use the private-channel guide for that next job.
Does it bypass a group's approval requirement?
No bypass is established by the documentation. Telegram supports invite links requiring administrator approval. The product page does not specify the add-on's behavior for those invitations; ask support before depending on them.
Next step: authorize one source before adding more
Choose the source whose invitations you actually intend to accept, review its posting access, configure one task, and check one new permitted invitation. Expand only after you have observed the intended membership outcome. If you need per-invitation judgment, keep that step manual.
Start from the RedFox Auto Forward Telegram product page. Choose the official Web app, iOS app or Android app. For fuller management, use Web or the mobile apps rather than the limited Telegram-bot entrypoint; choose the surface you prefer. Active tasks run in RedFox's cloud without keeping the management interface open, as described in its runtime FAQ. Review the specific add-on in your account before changing a live task.
